These villagers have their own administration and are considered as the oldest republic in the world. Although the people do not mix with the other people they are extremely proud of their culture. You will have the best time at night, gazing at the billion starts right up above you. Malana is around 21kms from Kasol and your trekking trail takes you through some of the majestic scenes of the region. Feast your eyes on the Distance Mountains and listen to the birds chirping as you continue your trek. For reaching Malana you will have to cross over Chanderkhani Pass. Your trekking trails take you through beautiful alpine pasture and soak in the beautiful view of the high mountain peaks. There might be a few steep ascend during the trek but the beauty of the place will never let you down. On the very first day, start from New Delhi to Manali in an AC Bus, which will take around 12 hours.
Get down at Patlikuhal (20 kms before Manali and 20 kms after Kullu) from bus.
Aftermath, get a jeep ride to Rumsu base camp(10 kms).
Freshen up and have your breakfast before you will undergo through registration process for the trek.
Post lunch, go for an acclimatisation walk. Orientation regarding the trek will be given by the chief organiser in the evening. The orientation will cover information like ruck sack packing, marching/walking technique and general awareness about a Himalayan Trek.
Stay overnight at Rumsu base camp.
Finish your breakfast and then start your trek to the Ghankulhadi camp site. The trek goes through some dense forest full of pine, fir, oaks, chestnuts trees.
The trek involves moderate ascend and will take around 3 to 4 hours. Stop at Sterling for lunch.

Start the trek to Chaklani camp site after having your breakfast.
Chaklani campsite is at 3,450 meters and offers amazing views of Manali valley. It takes around 4-5 hours to reach to the camp site.
The first part of the trek has a moderate ascend but later it becomes easy. Find many peaks like Ali Ratna, Friendship peak, Deo Tibba , Hanuman Tibba, Tiger Teeth and others.
Stay overnight in tents at Chaklani camp site.
Start the day early in the morning by 06:00 AM. It takes around 3 hours to reach to the top of Chandrakhani Pass(3,660 meters) from Chakhlani Camp Site.
Enjoy your packed lunch at Chandrakhani top. Post to it, descend for Nagroni camp site. The route from here is a descend and will take around 3 hours.
Stay overnight in tents at Nagroni camp site.
Today you will have the trek to Malana from Nagroni and it takes around 4 to 5 hours. The trek route has a moderate descend all the way.
En route you can see a small village name Dudhon. The villagers are Malani people who have settled there for cultivation.
Malana is a unique village with its own unique culture. Its claimed to be the oldest democracy and the local believe that they are the descendants of Alexandar. The village has its own law book and rules. Outsiders are not allowed to touch any of the books and things.

Today, you will be descending to Malana Dam.
The route is steep descend but short and does not take more than an hour.
Enjoy the ride to Rumsu base camp, have hot lunch at the base camp.
Departure by 05:00 PM for New Delhi by an AC bus.
